New Ruger 9mm carbine.....

Yet those fools at Glock can't make something like this that uses glock mags.

They could easily make something like this. Guess Mr Gaston Glock doesn't keep up with American consumer demands or has enough money that he doesn't care!

I think it's because Glock has everything to gain and everything to lose with a Carbine. They would need to ensure it was PERFECT out of the gate for brands sake, and would have to have many military contracts to likely justify the production. A consumer based market alone world wide might not justify the R&D costs and prodution. Plus they'd be entering a market that's is heavily occupied by CZ, HK, and a few major AR manufacturers (Colt, Rock River, Wilson, etc). That would be a heavy undertaking for the company and they'd have to have a lot of folks onboard.

I used to volunteer at a LE only range in California. Quite a few of the local PD's issued the original Ruger PC9. They were awesome guns to shoot, super reliable with all kinds of ammo and had consistently good practical accuracy. I hope this new version will perform just as well. I'm already on a waiting list.

It always made sense as an LEO rifle to me. Less likely to over penetrate, shares ammo with service weapons and more discriminating than a shotgun.

Lots of 33 round G mags around and good prices too.
(All they have to do for an MA compliant is swap an unthreaded barrel even with that Biotch screwing the state with her illegal reinterpreting of the law for that state.)
There are two models; one has a 17-round magazine and threaded barrel and the other -for AWB states- has a 10-round magazine and unthreaded barrel.

I picked up a LEO trade in PC40 a while back. Cool gun, and 40S&W out of a carbine hits hard.

Here's a couple I took after throwing a trs25 on it. Haven't had it out today due to the current weather conditions. Hopefully this weekend.
I had just committed to buy an ASR the same day I came across this thread a couple weeks back, otherwise I'd have one. I'm happy with the ASR though. It doesn't break down as fast, have to spend 30 seconds unscrewing the barrel but I got 9mm and 357sig and can buy several other caliber kits already in production. No telling if/when Ruger is going to offer any conversions. This kind of stuff floats my boat but most people I think just want 9mm.

Picked one up yesterday locally. Ran 50 rds through it last night. It is a blast to shoot and pretty accurate. I believe I will mount a red dot on top and call it a day.

Damnit! I didn’t realize it was out yet. Now I need to find one

You fools are making it really hard for me to wait until the second gen comes out... Especially at $500 with the Glock magwell. Imagine how this thing would be with a nice LPV 1-4!?!?!

There are a few out. From what I understood it is dealer allocated(they only had one). It is a solid piece and I like the threaded barrel and takedown feature, along with the glock magazine capability. Feels like a beefed up 10/22 which I am familiar with. I have had good luck with ruger firearms, initially went in looking for the American ranch 7.62x39 but saw they had this in stock surprisingly and jumped on it. It would look even better with a 9mm suppressor on it. Seems to be a few on gb, but of course they are pulling a premium.

Cheers.

Found a police distributor up in Austin who has them for Mil/LE pricing. They don’t have any in stock currently, but I put my name on the list and will head up and grab one as soon as they come in.

Do they come with that nice carrying case that the 10/22 TDS come with?

What price? We talking $450ish or so?

You make a few valid points but a straight blowback carbine is a basic and generally very simple firearm to produce. Glock could use pistol parts bin components for the majority of the internals, so other than the barrel, bolt and stock there would be very little new tooling to be done. Would this still justify production and development costs? Maybe, I think Glock would sell a ton of them, but Glock is a notoriously conservative company and that is the main issue with them rolling out new products..

Damnit. I want one of these real bad. I'd love to see one in 10mm that takes glock 20 mags.

So from looking at the video that was posted, this seems like it's a decent possiblity... around the 23:00 mark..shows the bolt face is removable.

So maybe they come out with different uppers for it? That would be awesome. I wonder if the mag well is larger enough to accommodate 10mm sized mags?

Added mag compatibility will be nice too. Sig P320 and FN would be nice.

I can definitely see them doing that. I would love to see an adapter for M&P mags too.

Also it would be a hard sell to LEOs after they all went Tactical Timmy and got battle rifles for their cars.

I broke down and ordered one.....$519 shipped. I could not keep the add to cart finger under control.........I already have a Marlin Camp 9, HP 995, KT Sub 2000, CZ Scorpion........see where this PCC sickness is going.

I likely will mate this up with my G17 in a go bag with several happy sticks.

I went in the local fun store earlier to see if they had one I could fondle. Not yet. But they apparently ordered 10.

I would imagine that any adapters Ruger doesn't make, an aftermarket third party will. It would seem an easy thing to crank out with the right CAD files.

I think so too. This has the potential to be a very versatile little carbine.

Ruger seems to have gotten a lot of things right on this but making it multi-magazine compatible......

That was a stroke of genius

I had just finished reading about that added feature for the Glock mag well and thinking the very same thing. R&D and forward thinking at its best.

The fact that it ships with the Glock adapter and you have to buy the American adapter separately tells you where their head is at. I really expect an M&P adapter soon.

Welp, guess I will wait until the summer once the rush buying is over and see if I can't snag one around $400. Really want to see how quickly Magpul comes out with the stock kits for the gun. Seems like a Magpul stock kit, some ETS or Glock 33 round mags, and a nice 1-4 LPV make this the ultimate PCC... behind the Scorpion, of course!

Unfortunately they do not come with the carrying case, I asked the same question when purchasing mine. It comes with the American adapter installed, an american magazine 17 round, glock adapter in the box separately. First thing when I did once I made it home was disassemble and change to the Glock magazine adapter. Then it was time to shoot! It would be nice if it came with a nice case, maybe later it will be available in aftermarket. It is a nice PCC.

Can someone who has one measure the pieces separately for me, length and max width or a total footprint would be nice too? Trying to determine the size bag the two pieces would fit into well.

I will try to get some measurements over tonight. From memory it will be close to a laptop bag...similar to the Keltec sub2000, just a little wider, due to the stock width. Will get actual #'s tonight for you.

Lets see. we could make this carbine only use a proprietary mag and charge 3x what the mags are worth and sell 5K units a year, or make it so it uses Glock mags and sell 25K units a year..........

Somebody send a memo to SIG (MPX)............

I wonder how many 995's High Point would sell if they redesign the carbine to use Glock sticks?
