Post-41F NFA Stamp Tracking thread

Your choice. The form itself says:

So you can refuse if you choose.

However, NFA items are illegal at the state level in most states. NC is included in that list, where they’re considered “weapons of mass death and destruction”. The exception to them being legal is if they’re properly registered.

So you can refuse, and you can take the ride downtown if you choose (if that’s what they opt to do), and then use the form as your defense in court.

Or show it, and most will have no idea what they’re looking at.

Some ranges will also request to see it. Their rules. I walk when that happens…but I’d show it to LEO if I thought it was allow me to go home.
Oh I’d definitely leave a range that asked. Good to know about LEO. Basically if you want to be a dick, refuse. Just wondering if I need to keep a digital copy of my form on my phone.

Thank you kindly, NFA Lord 🙏🏻

I am not sure a digital copy will work. Was listening to a couple attorneys in Washington State said that you needed to keep a hard copy with you.

Weird that a print out of a stamp and not a “real” stamp would work. That’s something I am willing to refuse. I’m not keeping a damn binder with me. They can accept the digital copy or try to take me to court for legally owning a suppressor.

Good to know though.

I think the bigger concern is handing your phone to LEO, assuming that’s where your digital copies are.

I have digital copies on my phone for my own use. But I also have a binder with copies of all stamps, 5320.20s, and certification of trust docs.

Never shown any of it to anybody for anything other than educational purposes.

I just have page 1 of both version (paper and PDF)…since that has the stamp, SN and registered owner.

I keep a copy in each gun case that I have the can or SBR in.

I've been thinking about shrinking it down to a half side of a4 and folding it up small in a Ziploc bag and stuffing it in the pistol grip compartment.

I’d rather keep a binder under the seat than hand over my phone for LEO to poke through.

Didn’t have an alignment rod so I just visually inspected and sent it. 🤙

Don’t post that on reddit/nfa….some of the folks on there will form a posse to track you down and have you stoned….lol.

Reddit is a cesspool. They also shit on you for asking if your alignment rod is aligned.

it's funny when those people talk about checking how flat/true/round things are by putting them on a glass surface, without realizing that glass is really more of a dense fluid and that it can bend, warp, and flow.

“Roll it on a plate of melted sand that has cooled off”. Reddit is the craziest place on the internet behind 4chan.

i just got a trilug adapter for my old gemtech 9mm can, i was playing with it and my wife asked what i was doing and i was like THIS IS THE PEAK OF GUN TECHNOLOGY THAT THE LATE 90S AND EARLY 00S HAD TO OFFER!

i also put lugs on my sbr beretta cx4 and my henry big boy x 357. at this point i might go ahead and get the upgraded monocore for the gemtech, because i feel like this is going to drastically increase my use of it

I was super against the tri lug. But I think I want a Noveske 9mm PCC with a surefire 9mm tri lug suppressor.

i think i'm around a dozen now and i only just found out that alignment rods exist.
fortunately i haven't exploded my face yet
I think Reddit makes people (including me) paranoid. You see so many people with baffle strikes.

It’s so damn easy to shim and time a muzzle device. If you don’t use a crush washer, you have to be a rider of the short bus to misalign a muzzle device.

I feel like most strikes are also from suppressors backing off, rather than a misaligned muzzle device.

I have 4 suppressors (rookie numbers!) and zero alignment rods.

I have <insert a number bigger than that> silencers and have never used one. I did buy the McMaster Carr rods (can’t remember what they’re called), but don’t trust ‘em even if I felt like using them.

These work well if you have A2 grips (and maybe A1?) rather than the fancy grips with hinged covers on the bottom.

Called and checked status on mine today... Waste of 15 minutes. I assumed I'd get an estimate on how much longer... I'm at 7 months on eform 4...

Me: what's the status...
Him: it's pending
Me: ok, what does that mean as far as timing? Is there an estimated timeframe for completion?
Him: uhhh I don't know, it's all over the place right now... We see some from the time you submitted being released. Yours could be any day now.
Me: is there anything else you can tell me?
Him: nope

I know I shouldn't expect much in terms of info, but I was a bit surprised at the responses. Seems very unorganized and extremely unprofessional. I guess I'm not surprised, just pissed that it takes them so unbelievably long. I'd love to know exactly how much hands on time is spent on each application.

10 minutes or less is my estimate. All the rest of the time it just sits in boxes and/or stacks of paper.

Nothing you said they said is a surprise for me. It’s how the system has worked every time I’ve gone through it.

got a YHM Resonator and the first thing the little sticker said was (paraphrasing) to tighten and check it didn't come loose since that is how most baffle strikes happen. Learning about and using suppressors is great and has made me a better neighbor for sure. Now I am looking at a 45 cal pistol can and a dedicated 22 rimfire can.

Christmas came early... Got my approval today. Form 4 eForm trust, submitted May 16th. Now I figure I'm stuck till after Christmas before it arrives, maybe 1st of the year.

You do the ”deliver to your door” option? It’s not waiting at the LGS?
