So a bit of a branch from the post ”A serious question about long range shooting”

Couple hours ago dear wife says WTF is that guy doing in our yard? Yup, in the middle of an ice storm some random guy parks in my driveway - 300 feet off the road - and sat there for 6 minutes. We did not notice until Iceman was leaving. Timestamp on my cameras says he was there for 5 1/2 minutes. Huh...

Might need a few more signs, a backhoe, motion activated floods....

Maybe he was looking for spots to place a deer stand.

We do have no soliciting signs but might need a couple more No Hunting.

I think I'll hang empty shell casings from the signs with another that says ”if you pay the taxes, you can shoot too”

Use 20mm casings.

claymores
Hah, my 19year old son said that too.

I've got the best neighbor around. Anytime someone comes in late a night he calls to make sure all is good. Heck he even put up a few ”no soliciting” signs for me.

If I drop off the forum either wife booked a cruise or the Boogeyman got me.

Kinda looks like he stopped when it became clear he wasn't where he thought he was. Called someone, got updated directions since "GPS ain't right" and then left?

I've seen guys on our road during storms and such, and one of our neighbors stopped them. Turns out they were contractors working for Duke energy looking for down polls and such. Personal unlabeled truck but must have had enough ID/gear/moxie to convince the back hoe owning neighbor that they were up to something legit.

(glad I'm not the aggressive one on the street :) )

Backhoe? You planning on burying the truck too?

Odd for a sunday afternoon during a ice storm.

Get a driveway alarm. I put one up that is infrared and is solar charged. It’s good for several hundred yards. It’ll let you know as soon as they pull in off the paved road.

Had some coon hunters come strolling through the yard one night about a year ago. I saw flashlights in the back yard, they came from the woods, I’d not heard any dogs. I met them in the yard with my bright ass streamlight on the ar. Immediately one of them said “hey jackass, you’re blinding us “
Another one said “his ar has two mags clamped together, stfu stupid”

I sent them on their way and told them they better come in from the driveway next time they decided to trespass. Don’t put up with anyone being there that’s not supposed to be. They’ll think it’s ok to come back

Bury the truck? Nah, why waste the fuel be easier to just drop it off downtown Greensboro. It would be stripped before the snow melts.

Driveway alarm might work although that truck stopped about where the WiFi signal cuts out so will have to weigh options.

Was about to get shoes and go say ”hey can you help me sight my rifle?” when they backed up the 300 feet to the road.

Driveway alarm doesn’t work on Wi-Fi. Has its own receiver that you plug in an outlet in the house

Driveway alarm

Thats one linked above that I got the last time and it works well and easy setup. Think it was a chamberlin I had before it and was not as reliable.

mount it at the focus point of an old salvaged dishnetwork satellite dish?

I've seen no mention of an actual No Trespassing sign. That's a critical legal issue in case something happens. Get one or more.

No Trespassing sign - might be a couple. To be honest kind of forget what is out there.

From a legal viewpoint do the funny ones have less ”cover your butt impact”? They cost about the same so have some fun.

Or does the humor imply not serious?

If an altercation occurs and you end up in court, what signs are you going to show the court proving you officially posted your property?
An actual No Trespassing sign is a legal process. Ask an officer/deputy.

We've had to deal with this for multiple situations. Officially posting allows certain legal right. It also allows LE to act, if necessary.

I agree here. "No Trespassing" is a legal thing. "We don't dial 911" just makes you look.... funny? yea, no.

Thanks for the clip from Armed Attorneys watched a few of their clips. After watching them seems common sense.

* The funny signs and bumper stickers could be used by prosecution
* Travel to 2A less friendly states is asking for trouble.

I agree, probably trying to find a safe place to pull, off, look at maps, PLSN a route, etc. Possibly not from area. Doubt it’s malicious activity, but you’re aware so no harm no foul.

GPS took him the wrong way and was trying to figure out how in the heck he was going to get to his original destination.

It has happened to me, but I had the common sense not to loiter around in front of someone’s house.
Some folks have no couth.
