Someone surveiling my house? Hmmm

I fixed them... after talking about milking the goats, the guy asked me what we did with the rabbits. Without a pause I told him we milk them too. "You can do that"? " Sure... just takes a taller milking stand and really tiny fingers" as I demonstrated the milking action.

They bought it hook, line, and sinker. I can just picture them telling it to someone else who knows they are idiots....

We put up signs when I came out and found a family opening my rabbit hutch lifting them by the ears and petting the goats. Asked them what they were doing and sent them on their way.

They saw the animals from he road and wanted to show them to their kids.....

Guess who has a gate and fencing now?
We raise Flemish Giant rabbits, and keep them on the back of our property with no signs or other ways to identify what we do. All business is done off property, and no one is allowed(except close friends)on the property. Anyone that comes on my land uninvited is met with an unconcealed holstered pistol, and I’ve never had any come back.

Probably someone lost fiddling with the GPS or a private investigator. "Other" trespassers usually come in 3's and in more than one vehicle. You will find out quick whos the boss when you roll out armed and low, dont be threatening. Get the cards of everyone involved and then decide if you want to talk to them. A warrant will change that! Be cooperative as you are on video.
I dont put up with nefarious characters in my neighborhood as they are rarely up to any good. I also have the local PD number memorized just in case I need to make that call. I OC and if a person trespassing doesnt become humble quick that sends up the hairs on my neck. Always look around too as threat can come in pairs!

My manager ordered one of these for his place.

No clue if this is true, and I would love to hear from an actual lawyer on this...but I have heard several times that if you have one of these signs on your property and something ever did happen with you discharging a firearm at a 2 legged trespasser... that it's not good for your self defense argument.

That's because you didn't dispose of the body proper like.

That gets brought up from time to time, yet noone can point to a single case where a sign like that has actually played a part in convicting someone.
On the flip side of that, and I forget where this happened, but a cop shot and killed someone and he had "You're f***ed" engraved on the dust cover of his AR. Went to trial for murder and was acquitted.

No different than a Guard Dogs Inside sign on auto parts yards.

In regard to the No trespassing signs, it is a processs. I had a fenced in yard at my old house and city workers kept coming in my back yard. They claimed they had right of way despite the line they actually were looking for was 17 feet behind my fence line and 12 feet off my property line. I called the Sheriff since the local chief of police was on the town side. We posted my property with signs. I woke up one morning after that to them in my yard again. Luckily I had not let my GSD out yet. They had broke my lock on my fence, and ripped down my sign for trespassing. I called the cops AND the sheriff Dept. The chief of police tried to get me not to file charges. I asked him who was going to buy me a new lock, hasp for my fence, sign etc. The chief told me that was a me problem not the city problem. The deputy claimed otherwise and we took out second degree trespassing charges because I had proof of the signs and such. Long story short they paid to fix my fence, new sign cost for me to take out the charges and promised to never come back on my yard unless I called them there. The mayor was pissed at the PD and public works. He dropped by after calling first to apologize to me personally. I dropped the charges once they paid. Had I not documented my proof I couldn’t/wouldn’t have had the leverage I needed

I would tend to disagree...saying I have a dog that protects my property is a bit different then saying if you enter my property I'll kill you. One denotes more intent to me...but I'm no lawyer.

Some times folks get caught up in repeating things they hear without thinking them through...Our Attorney Extraordinaire Jay Noble Daggett loves our signs here....his take is..if anybody passes or comes through a property lined marked like ours is...they Obviously have read and come ahead anyway....in court that shows "intent" after being warned................
I fully agree and understand what youre saying Bill. I guess my point is that trespassing, while very stupid, isn't punishable by death. There must be a reason to defend oneself. With that said I, like most of you probably, have met tresspassers or late night visitors with a firearm. Either way sign or no sign...to each his own and i personally think the signs are fine...i have no trespassing signs...that to me is threatening enough without saying...I'll kill you of you come further.

Exactly, the same for drivers that ignore the posted speed limit signs, traffic signals and the STOP signs.

That would be the case where the cop shot the guy in a motel hall as he crawled towards them. Can't remember his name. If I remember they would not let the fact about the dust cover be brought up in the trial
