Terrorist attack in London

Surely, there has to be at least a handful of folks across the pond that have things they're not supposed to have...folks that decided, "F*ck it; I don't care what Parliament has decreed...I'm keeping what I have."

For those few, maybe it's time to ask themselves, "What would Jed Eckert do?" Well...I tell you what Jed Eckert would do...

That's what Jed Eckert would do.

One of my favorite movies ever!! Watched a ton of times when I was little with my pops. Everytime I watch it know I go buy more ammo..... ;)

Trudi sent me to the bedroom already, and made me take more pain meds. I got pretty wound up here at the house.

Gotta keep it fairly clean and civil in the general forum.

I was considering going over there for a visit. But Trudi assures me I can't even carry my case trapper pocket knife.
WTH possesses a people to allow themselves to be turned into tame rabbits in a cage. It's worse than being sheep now.

Check out his right wrist. I don't think it's supposed to bend that way.

All he wanted was peace; that's it...that's all he was seeking...

that's why he's got those thundercans strapped to his waist.

First test for Neil Gorsuch but you never know how weathervane Kennedy will vote.

The London Bridge attackers will face the wrath of the 'Blue Thunder' squad - a 70-strong Special Forces unit which can be scrambled at a moment's notice on the direct orders of the Home Secretary. It has been rehearsing terror scenarios for months - including how to take out lone wolves and multiple rampaging jihadis. Soldiers in the unit which is nicknamed after its unmarked helicopter, are supported by an Apache helicopter gunship which uses powerful cameras to relay live pictures to commanders on the ground.

Yeah. An attack like this is done and over with before you can get your fancy helicopter off the ground. As long as you are reactionary the other guy sets the rules. And your cops on the ground actually ran from three ragheads with knives.

In other news, London police get new headgear:

Possibly two attackers equilibrating to ambient temperature:

I just noticed these two are lying in the background of the previously posted image:

A man goes to visit an old acquaintance one afternoon. When he arrived the old man and his dog were sitting on the porch, the man in a rocking chair and the old dog laying on the porch at his side. As they were talking and catching up on old times, the dog raised his head, showed his teeth, and growled loudly. Then the dog stopped and laid his head back down. Every few minutes the dog would do the same thing, growling angrily.

After a few times of the dog doing this the visitor asked the old man, "What's wrong with your dog? Why does he act angry and growl and then just stop?"
The old guy answered, "Aw, he's just laying on a nail and it's poking him."
The visitor then asked, "Then why doesn't he just move?"
The old guy says, "I guess it ain't poked him enough just yet."

What's it going to take for us to get poked enough to do something?

Saw an NBC article last night, yes NBC. Last year the metro police in London, who had firearms, discharged 3,600 rounds from their weapons. Mostly shooting out tires of perps and such. Only six rounds were fired against suspects!

Most police do not want to get involved in the aftermath of investigations after an incident. We have the internal investigations here, but apparently it is a real problem with having security in London. We all know that's a problem there, but they are too late to get non-PC when their country needs it. Actually Teresa May was in charge of Homeland Security there for over five years.

I'm not clear on how having weapons would have stopped those maniacs using their vehicle as a tool for murder, what would you do, open fire on every vehicle that is speeding in a area where there are pedestrians?

Those who carry out these attacks are expecting to die, knowing the targets had guns wouldn't have stopped them doing what they did.

I'm not saying that the UK's laws on weapons or their approach to extremism is right, it's not.
The nanny state has allowed extremists a free reign to recruit and grow BUT at this point arming the general populace is not going to solve the problems.

They can start with doing away with 'Human Rights' for ANYONE on a terror watch list - they aren't on a list for no reason, round em up, lock em up and let em rot.

Round up all the 'Religious' leaders that preach hate and show them what hate really is.

Arm the police, give them the tools to fight an enemy that doesn't give a damn about our laws (until they get caught and then suddenly they do..), let the police do what they have to without fear of bureaucratic reprisals.

And our politicians and so called leaders need to grow a backbone, I dont give a crap about hurting the feelings of 'moderate muslims' I do care that my friends and family are no longer safe to walk the streets.
The fear and stress waiting to hear my friends and family are safe each time, it doesn't get easier, it doesn't become 'the norm'.

This war on terror is just that - a war - and its time our leaders started treating it like one.

And those of you who think this will stay in Europe, it won't, they are learning their trade, perfecting their methods on 'soft' targets, when they are ready they will head here to the USA, this country is their ultimate target.

I am English, I am proud to be English but I am not a fool - my Dad was in a boat rescuing soldiers off the beaches at Dunkirk in WW2, its time we found that spirit, pride and willingness to do what is needed - across the world.

Wow!
She's feeling bloody this morning!

You do realize that we're all probably on that list, or another equally scary list?

When the only thing you can carry over there is a 4"< non-locking folder, this is what folks have to do:

Gerard Vowls told The Guardian newspaper that he saw a woman being stabbed by three men at the south end of London Bridge. He said he threw chairs, glasses and bottles at the attackers in a bid to stop them.

"They kept coming to try to stab me . They were stabbing everyone. Evil, evil people," he told the newspaper. "I want to know if this girl is still alive. I've been walking around for an hour and a half crying my eyes out. I don't know what to do."
