Eterna kontiki one of my Grail watches.
The movement is an automatic Sellita SW200, inspired by an ETA caliber. I also didn't adjust this date since it was delivered to work I never got around to it.
Next thing you know you're gonna complain about the telsa key in my hand...Very nice. And good decision to forego the red band on that one.

Noted for future plagerism.Self reliance isn't just dying off, it's actively being hunted to extinction.
Great looking watch!
I see you cow
Would be nice in red. [emoji2]
That's one of the brands I'm looking at. I am shopping for my own 60 th birthday present. I'm looking at Omega, Tag, Breitling mostly. Anyone have strong opinions about any of these? I'm looking at bigger watches as I'm 6'4" with gorilla arms and my Rolex date just looks tiny on my wrist. A guy I do crossfit with has a Breitling I like but he says it has been crappy and has been back for adjustments like 3 times. Any ideas or opinions about brands and places to purchase would be appreciated. Thanks and sorry for rambling...Been moving a lot the past few years (I miss NC) and our last stop was Oregon in Beaverton outside of Portland. Well my wife hated it, People, Politics, Weather... etc. So that began a hunt for a new job somewhere else, preferably the south in Texas or Carolinas and told me when I got her out of Oregon I could buy a nice watch.
Originally I had my heart set on a used Rolex no date submariner and began shopping/pricing.
Well we finally moved a little over a month, but not back south. I found a great job in the Denver, CO area. So far we really love it here, guns laws aside. The people are really friendly and it nice to see the sun again.
Recently I got my reward. My first nice watch. I ended up buying an Omega Seamaster 60th anniversary.
I like the vintage size and style and I just couldn’t find the type of used Rolex at a price I wanted to pay.
I’m surprised at how much I enjoy wearing a watch again after many years of not. It makes me smile every time I look at.
I really like Omegas. I’ve serviced a fair few over the years and like them a lot. Sure, they have problems, but they all do. Rolex are one of my least favourite, by the way.
I haven't worn a watch for about 10 years or so, now.
Not since my wife went off the deep end one day and I threw mine away in response.
We were in the kitchen, discussing something while she was working on dinner. Don't recall what...but she mentioned a date. So I reflexively looked at my watch, because I'm a highly intelligent, nuclear engineer and I can glance at my watch and figure out what day of the week a given date is going to be on.
Something snapped and she blew up: "WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT YOUR WATCH FOR? THERE'S NO CALENDAR FUNCTION ON YOUR WATCH! YOU CAN'T SEE WHAT DAY IT IS!"
I stared at her as she went on and on like that for a while. Finally, as she continued, I took my watch off, threw it in the trash can, and walked out of the kitchen.
Problem solved, from a man's perspective: No watch, no reason to get upset about me looking at my watch.
I went back to the kitchen later and the watch was sitting on the kitchen counter. Where I left it for I don't know how many years, never touched it. Eventually, some how, it ended up in my car. I found it a while back...doesn't work and no telling what the guts look like inside with the same battery for over ten years. I left it where I found it.
Never bought another watch and I'm never going to again.
I would start wearing a watch again IF my wife actually bought one for me. But not before.
I second the crapiness of Brietling. I have a superocean steelfish that's been back 3 times, the last time was it got water under the crystal in the shower, it's a dive watch. Seal failed on the stem. Went with the Tag Aquaracer Calibre 16, it's 44mm and haven't had any problems with it. I've been looking at the Omega Planet Oceans and also Oris makes a bigger dive watch, I think 46 or 48mm.That's one of the brands I'm looking at. I am shopping for my own 60 th birthday present. Thanks ! I’ll check those out. Sad about Breitling. I like some of their offerings.I second the crapiness of Brietling. I'd love to have this one. $7-8k though... I'd be scared to wear it.Thinking about another. Don't know which one though.
I need a less expensive hobby than guns and watches. I need to collect something cheap like bottle caps or something. Sell me a DW and you can get a ton of new watches.I wish my gun budget was somewhere close to the watch budgets here! Some very nice looking stuff, but not sure I could quite bring myself to go there. My man cave walls aren't lined with guns. Yet.

Ssssshhh don't tell my wife. My response is normally not that much. I use the same response about guns. Not really. I really like that Eterna you have so checked them out. Damn, that's an entire Dan Wesson, holster and ammo! In the end I'd ather have another DW. Or 4 nice lever actions maybe.
This watch will be a Christmas present to myself.
I saw one recently go for a steal. I've been kicking myself ever since. I was 2nd in line calling dibs. Watchrecon doesn't have that many listed.I have looked at these often and Still want one- just a classic design. Also almost bought one of the Sinn ST103 clones that West Coast Time used to import. (O&W Mirage III)
Really starting to dislike your watch fetish
