What did you do in the reloading room today?

Not a room but decided to multi purpose my fly tying table to a reloading table. Single stage is mounted and I punched holes to mount the Lee Load all's as well. They won't be on at the same time. Now I get to reload inside. Yay! Plus the press was interfering with my holster making space where it was mounted. It got annoying to have to put it up and take it down. Maybe less movement this way. Still need to clean up the desk a bit more and decide how I'm going to deal with all the accessories.

Made a dozen 9mm dummy rounds for a bud and chamber checked (100) 45acp I made last week.

Inventoried primers and powder in advance of the upcoming Dixie show in Raleigh.

Yesterday I loaded 450 9mm, today I shot them. What I learned is that while I really want plated bullets to be accurate, they just aren't.

Over the weekend, loaded 250 Zombie 147gn 9mm, 500 lead 147gn 9mm and 500 plated 147gn 9mm. First time since I switched over to the Lee auto drum measure. Man, I'm liking this new powder measure a lot over the auto disk system. Much more repeatable results and super simple to set your drops.

This should have come standard on my Loadmaster.

I've only loaded 50 rounds with the Auto Drum but so far it only fluctuates ever so slightly with Titegroup. I need to shoot these for consistency before loading a bulk of them.

Curious to hear about your impression of the coated vs the plated. I've about given up on plated, accuracy just isn't there.

I haven't been able to get plated at .355 or .356 over 3.2 - 3.4 of tightgroup to shoot worth a darn in the AR-9, while zombies at .356 shoot well. Can you provide more details? I have thousands of plated and I'd like to do something with them.

I just loaded about 900 extreme 147s 356 over 3.4gr tite @ 1.15 for my GLOCK 17/19. I'll be using them for IDPA/ZSA/USPSA. I haven't messed with them much but I can get 4 out 5 to touch at 7yds standing freestyle if I try. Have not used them for PCC (don't have one) so I don't have long range accuracy numbers.

Have you slugged or mic'ed your barrel? Maybe it's a bit to the high side. .356-357 or such?

No, too much other stuff going on, but it's on the list of things to do. However, if it was little oversized I'd expect the accuracy with coated bullets to also be poor, and it is not.

Well, pulled the handle on a rcbs rock chucker that I bought three years ago for the first time. Renewed interest got me to open my wallet and I'm finally equipped to try my hand at reloading. Welded up a beefy press stand from 1/4" plate steel and bolted it to a Steelcase brand desk i bought just for reloading. (HEAVY) and proceeded to deprime a little over 600 .308 casings. I think my enthusiasm thwarted muscle fatigue for the evening!

Good point. Have you mic'ed the coated bullets though? They could be oversized as well....

Swaged a bunch of 5.56 rounds tonight.

Package from Dillon Precision showed up today........nothing fancy, just some case gauges...more shiny reloading trinkets for the bench.

First batch of needlessly shiny brass coming up......running it outside till i know it's not gonna leak everywhere.

The Hornady Die Wrench come in today.

My replacement 45acp mold came in from Lee Thursday. I took it out of the box and laid it on the bench.

Uniformed a bunch of primer pockets. Case trimmer came in, something to play with today. Also reorganized powder and ammo, that was loads of fun. Basically did everything but reload.

Ordered some liquid Lanolin off Amazon to finally make some case lube. I've had a bottle of heat sitting on my desk for year..... i was trying to find it local and finally gave up. I have close to 1k 5.56 rounds ready for sizing. Ugh, and then trimming.... Maybe I can pick up a better trimmer at the gun show next weekend.

Loaded up 1k CCI primers into the pick up tube while watching the Steelers and Chiefs.

This would drive me crazy. Vibraprime. Each tube in about 10 seconds. :D

I need a Vibraprime. Filling primer tubes is one of the mind-numbing tasks I could do without, but I'm too cheap to spend the money.

I really need to spend some time re-organizing my reloading room. That is one of my new years resolutions. Going to take a few days off next week to make it happen.

The Vibraprime looks like a neat tool to have. Anyone that has one noticed any down side to them?

Sometimes they get backed up. The vibration is all important. Do things to increase it.

It had been over a week since I spent any time in the reloading room, I had the flu most of last week. But, I made up for it tonight by pressing some 45acp. 250 rounds of Xtreme 230 RN, and 100 rounds of RMR 230 Hardcore bullets, over Red Dot powder.

Reloaded 50 more 300 BO with 16.0 gns of 296 under a Hornady 150 FMJ and 25 with 16.0 gns of 296 under a Hornady XTP 160 grn bullet. Tumbled and resized 100 9 mm and 45 ACPs that were shot today.

So when you pulled some of my hot loads for me, you had the flu? Glad you didn't kiss me!
