Some of you are aware from my past posts that my daughter, son-in-law and grand-kids live with me. The son-in-law works at a local hospital and has been around covid a lot but we have managed to keep it away from our household, that is until this past week. Thursday my 11 y old granddaughter tested positive for covid which she caught at school (her school is a hotspot). We've been doing the best to treat her symptoms at home in conjunction with meds prescribed by the doctor. I would have thought we were doing pretty good since she seemed to be fighting the infection okay, yeah she had the occasional fever spike, headache and such but the last 24 hrs have lead to a fairly consistent elevated systolic blood pressure. At first the thought was it may have been a side effect of the prednisone but now the Dr who has been checking in with us daily isn't so sure, so off to Levine Jeff Gordon Childrens Center she goes. Looks like the plan is to admit her. A prayer or two could be used right now.

Tough man. Prayers for your granddaughter to come through.

Many prayers for her, your family, and for the people providing her care.

Prayers underway.

Very sorry to hear when a kid is sick, prayers up.

Fingers crossed for you guys. I'm sorry this is happening.

Brother I hope your granddaughter is ok, hope she beats this thing

Prayers for your granddaughter and family!

Granddaughter is at home now and hopefully it will stay that way. She has some inflammation of the pleural sac which is the lining between her lungs and her chest. They did a cardiac workup as well and thankfully that came back okay. The blood pressure issue seems to be a mix of covid symptoms and side effects of the prednisone. They want her to continue on the meds and limit her physical activity. We will need to check her vitals several times a day and pass them on to the Dr.s office.
And to make things even more interesting one of the other grandkids started running a temp last night. My 2yr old grandson is just now getting over a case of RSV compliments of his daycare so hopefully that's what the other granddaughter is coming down with and not covid. She will probably get tested today.

She is HOME! Good news.

Will keep plugging for health for her and the rest of you.
