Next time we see each other, remind me to tell you how to save time and money on your transfers.I just had two lowers transferred at Atlas in Winston Salem. They charge $20 for up to 4 on one sheet and IIRC $20 more for the ones after that.
Hey knot right, what store is this you were referring to?$25 for the first gun and 15 for all guns order/received within 3 days. Police, 501c fund raisers and some military free of charge.
Knightdale Pawn is $20 James is good people. I know he’s been mentioned but wanted to bump him again.
FWIW I used to be a member at TSA. They advertise their transfers as $25 for members. I sold a gun to a guy off armslist and he wanted to do the sale at an FFL so I suggested TSA. Long story short, they wouldn’t do the transfer at $25 because I wasn’t the one purchasing the gun. Charged the guy $40+tax. Not a huge deal but still irked me a bit.
I hate to say it, but the only reason I go there is for the range, and for the food. I hardly bother looking at what they have in stock anymore, whenever I do I see high prices. I bought a bunch of stuff from them when they were North Raleigh Guns, but nothing since then.FWIW I used to be a member at TSA. They advertise their transfers as $25 for members. I've lost track of the number of transfers I've made with my guy in the past year. He won't give me a copy and I have to go down there each time to get him to email his document to sellers. I'm seriously considering paying the $200 and applying for an FFL myself.Any of the FFL’s actually give you a copy? Fuquay does, and that makes transfers easy, no need to get them involved with having to send one themselves.
I put a MO and FFL copy in an envelope and send it out.
Same with me, they will not accept inbound transfers from Bud's. I did get a nice deal on a used, like new, Beretta 92FS compact last year.I hate to say it, but the only reason I go there is for the range, and for the food. I hardly bother looking at what they have in stock anymore, whenever I do I see high prices. I bought a bunch of stuff from them when they were North Raleigh Guns, but nothing since then.
Lake Norman Pawn in Denver, NC
$20/transfer
I have bought 5 new guns from my LGS in the last year. A few weeks ago, I bought a used handgun online and had it shipped to him. I had no idea how much the transfer fee would be, but I assumed it would be about $20.
When the used handgun shipped, I had the FedEx tracking number and text message alerts and I saw exactly when it arrived at the LGS. I was at the shop to pick it up 30 minutes after it arrived. The whole transaction took two minutes.
He wrote the serial number in his book, looked at my CHP, and charged me $40 plus tax.
I couldn't believe it... I am not going to have any more guns sent there.
$50 for a transfer? No wonder it’s called Fland.Don't go to Mace in Efland, $50.

Why does this not surprise me?

Who and where?Talk about outrageous, I asked my LGS and range where I am a member about outbound transfers, $75.00 says he!! Plus postage...
