Fishing Pics ... post your most recent.

Ran an 8 hour near shore king mackerel charter today. We released a bunch of small fish and kept 4 and a piece of one. The one that got eaten by a shark was a classy king mackerel 50lb+. The guy holding the safety green t shirt was sea sick all day so he got a free t shirt “chum champ of the day”

EXCELLENT! I was making a joke about her kissing the fish. FANTASTIC pics of a beautiful child . Great work Sir.

Nice work!

That sucks that the tax man showed up on that smoker. The tax man giveth and he taketh away. I lost an overslot red last year to one bite. They're getting pretty bad out of Oregon the last few years. What I was told was the folks out of Oregon had to stop showing bite photos or the National Park Service would shut down the marina as it was on their land. bad publicity etc.

Fished Lake Jocassee last week while on family vacation. Took the two girls and went out with my dad on his pontoon Thursday evening. Wind was up like crazy for the first few hours, and was really rocking the boat, but about 10 pm it died down. They stopped pumping out around 10:30 and we expected them to start pumping back, but by 2am they hadn't. We probably would have limited out quickly had they started. Got 11 rainbows into the boat, and missed a few more trying to net them or they threw the hook while doing tarpon-like acrobatics. Largest fish was 21" the rest were in the 17-19 range, 2 turned back because they were below slot. Youngest daughter was asleep before dark, but the oldest hung in there through all the turbulence for some really good fishing. I think she reeled in 5 of the 9 keepers. Here is a pic of the kept fish, one of my oldest using the sabiki rig to catch herring, and one of the youngest driving the boat on the way out. No browns this trip, which was a little dissapointing, but there is always next time.

The evening started out slow, but with just enough light to see the corks, the fishes were on fire. Threw back several tiny ones, but kept a few eaters.

Second fish of the day and it was caught on a minnow between 4 and 5 feet deep.

I played hookie and we ran 12 hour blue water trip today. We lost a lot of mahi due to inexperienced anglers and we lost one wahoo at the boat that swam right into one of the motors. Was still a decent day but just frustrating when it could have been so much better. 6C09A534-71F4-479D-BEAC-73AA70E8EEF1.jpeg79592064-35BF-46FD-9EFE-3A2CDC7F4228.jpeg

Big Dave, was your run about 4 to 4.5 hours each way? When i used to fish with on a boat with triples 250, that is usually what we burn
No sir we get out there in an hour and half in good seas where we can run 40 knots. Yesterday’s run was a little over two hours there and a little over hours back because of sea conditions.

Texas rigged Senko, Weedless Senko, Chatterbait JackHammer and Zero Gravity jig. Weird and lucky day...... Went out there again yesterday and didn't even get a bump.

Came across these pictures. Went to Massena, NY a few years ago with some friends to disassemble a dentist office that someone donated to a missionary in Guatemala. While we were up there we decided to try some fishing. Rode around and found some public waters between 2 boat locks. They would ríase and lower the water every 15 minutes or so. Every time the water level would come up, we would catch quite a few small mouth bass. Between 3 of us, we probably caught around 50 in a few hours all over 3 lbs. Most caught on a spinnerbait but some dragging a worm. That was a fun day!

Guess that’s why they call it fishing and not catching.

When I lived in CA I night fished a lot. Had a night where I went out at the start of a football game and was back by half time after catching 6 fish all over 6 lbs. Largest was a hair over 8. Wind kicked up and I called it a night.

Went to McDowell Park / Lake Wylie today for a little over 3 hours, it's close to home for me. Had an awesome day, my best ever fishing. Caught 6 bass, nothing else. I've had days where I've caught more fish but nothing this size. When I fish I go after whatever is in the water, I don't discriminate, which is why I'm a little surprised with the results today.

In the background of the first pic you can see where my hat ended up after it blew off while I was reeling in the fish. No way I was going to take one hand off the rod.

Caught 2 on a watermelon colored plastic worm using my dad's old Mitchell 300 on a medium action rod from about 55 years ago. Still working well and catching fish. Caught the other 4 on a ultra light action rod using 4 lb line with a Nikko Hellgrammite for bait. That was exciting.

.
That takes talent, getting a hook that big in those little mouths.

My wife’s grandparents love to eat the eggs out of those. Bluegill, crappie, sunfish, doesn’t matter. They fry them up.
oh wow never heard of eating them from panfish. Most folks around here catch the shad during the Feb-March spawning runs up the rivers from the ocean and fry up the roe sacks from them, but that is just from Hickory & American Shad.

Slayed them today in a creek on our hunting property.

I hate to post the pics, coz you guys are probably going to be bugging me for the location, etc. But I'll do it anyway.
