Gas lines

A guy on the news in Charlotte last night did the same thing. He said that he was on empty and gave it a try. He put in his card and filled his tank! Maybe they are smarter than you think?

Customer of mine "in the know" said that most stores shut down when they reach 1500/3000 gallons left. This is so that emergency vehicles can still get gas. His stores shut down at 2500 gallons.
"If" the breaker hasn't been thrown for the pumps you can still get gas.

Fair enough, but I think that was Fieldgrade's case you were replying to. I may have read his intent incorrectly. As Tesla owner I do have other questions though...the Sheets in Hickory always has a few Teslas at the chargers. Are these just owners on road trips greater than 200 miles so they have no choice but to stop? I feel like the average Tesla owner would think their time is valuable so I can't imagine stopping unless you had to.

For daily commutes and charging at home, I love the idea of an electric car. However, I can't think of any scenario I would want to sit at Sheetz for 15, 30 or 60 minutes to top up unless I had no choice on a trip greater than the vehicles range.
My range is 330 miles. Ive only had to use a supercharger once and that was when I picked it up in ATL and I only needed it for 10 mins. Roadtrips most likely or if they plan on stopping to grab some food or drink they plug in quickly. Depending on your car and battery size you can get 200 additional miles in 15 mins at a supercharger. Also, depending on the charging station some people may just be cheap. There are places to charge your car free at stores and such while shopping. Even though I dont need it when I drive into Charlotte and need to pick up some supplies I plug in while shopping to get my free 15-20miles :D

I phrased it like I did on purpose. I should have quoted "permission"
If I'm not mistaken the permit is free and it's good for 10k gallons per year.

I looked at it about 7 years ago but basically the process was the same it would be to make some corn whiskey then add gas to make E85 :D
Yes on bended knee and starts with "M'Lord, may I ..."

Thanks. That was what always perplexed me, plugging in while youā€™re shopping or something I could understand. But surely Sheetz food isnā€™t that good that if you could make it home you wouldnā€™t just wait.

if its a telsa supercharger at the sheetz then it might be frugal people doing frugal things. My car has free unlimited supercharging at telsa chargers for the life of the car. I know other owners have that same thing.

Iā€™m seeing Premium at $4 around HP/Kernersville (when they have gas). Just bought a gallon of non-ethanol Premium for tools at $3.66 at

Perhaps, because itā€™s find of a funky place and their gas is usually the highest around, they have gas and nobody buying it.
