How do you deal with Liberal Family Members?

I have several family members that are center-left. After the recent school shooting and the mass walkouts happening in local schools to support gun control measures, I had a dinner time chat with my family. To summarize, neither of my kids walked out. Might be due to this picture I showed them and the lecture that followed.

4 easy steps:

1. move 3,000 miles away (because its not possible to go further)
2. get rabidly into shooting
3. post nothing but gun related content on FB
4. get blocked by all your former friends and family

I moved 200 miles away.
Got rabidly into shooting.
Rarely post anything but gun related stuff.

And then a beautiful thing happened. The people that were worth being associated with supported me. The people that didn't like it unfriended me. I unfriended the ones that didn't treat me well. Now everything is great.

Incidentally I've tripled my number of Facebook friends since 2016.
