Motorcycle love

apparently most of the smart aleck cop themed tags are taken.

Of course I have been watching some 2024 RG videos. Like I said in a past post. It sounds like Harley is actually starting to listen. Prewired for heated grips and two ports under the seat for heated gear. This is on the Road Glide standard.

Somebody posted in the pictures thread that they and their siblings are taking their 71 year old dad salmon fishing in Alaska. Bucket list trip. They rented a cabin.

Heck, I’d be happy if my kids bought me a $100 gift certificate to the Harley dealer for parts.

I’ve been lurking for about 3 years. I went to take advantage of promotion deals on the 23, but after research and - followed by a test ride. I was hooked

Back a few, a Co worker took a month off and him with 2 friends rode the GS BMW's from Charlotte to Prudhoe Bay and back. They went thru 3 sets of tires and had an adventure of a life time. The pics he came back with were just incredible.

Wow. Nearly 10,000 miles round trip.

Probably about right, One of his friends BMW engine grenades somewhere in the Dakotas after running over 100 MPH for hours. It was under warranty so he left it at the BMW dealer and rented a Ford F150 and continued the trip cause he wasn't missing out on this . He picked his Bike back up on the return trip. My coworker actually had a tracker with him and gave me the website and I could track his trip like a GPS might do. I used to check it when I came home from work and you would think it would just be a straight line but these guys were on vacation and made lots of side trips.

$100 gift cert, so two bolts, A nut and an air cleaner?

So I’m just waiting on a clutch cable extension to finish what should have been a fairly straightforward handle bar swap. Dealing with a classic case of stacked tolerances at multiple levels and issues just going to the next size up handlebars.

You’d think buying new parts specifically made for a new bike (that they’ve been making like this for a decade) would be easy.

So I got bored and decided to take the tall cop seat off to see if I’d like the ergos better with a more conventional frame mounted seat from a Street Glide.

-Seat off.
-Under seat fairing off.
-BCM nearly removed to take the battery out to get to the bottom of the coil-over shock for the cop seat, to remove it.
-Realized how many things I would ultimately end up changing and how much it would cost if I decided to run a different seat.

Stopped right there, came to my senses, and put it back together like it was.

Leather gloves...
I have a pair of these HD and they fit well...had one pair blow out and replaced them. Did have some stitching come out of one finger but was able to fix them. Anyone have a lead on the real manufacturer or know of some close to this?

Got this from work. It’s actually pretty fun to scoot around town and backroads. It will run 50 on the flats and doesn’t have any problem with 45 on most hills I’ve encountered so far. Owner of the dealership gave it to me for something like a bonus for some extra work and hours I’ve put in getting things going.
