Here are some that I had out of the safe redoing the long gun setup a while back, eliminated the lower side shelves. Top to bottom. 1894 Marlin .45colt obviously not a sg, an 1897 norinco trench, a mismatched 1897, a Riverside 520-30 [Stevens] trenchgun project, a cutdown gangster Model 19 or 21 Marlin [don’t remember], a Model 24 shortened for cas work and my slick Winchester M12 trench build. The 24 is my go-to cas sg as my enlightened cas club allows Marlins. of course there are only two of us who use them. C2A13618-4C3B-4CAD-AA6D-2DB0A9123259.jpeg

Over the last many years I have tried a lot of shotguns to see what suits me best. These are a few.

My trusty 500. Had this thing for 6 years or so and have long since lost count of shells I've put through it.

Cheapo holosun on a KE arms mount, mesa tactical aluminum side saddle, streamlight tl-racker, a little tacky looking but I love it.

One that just came back to me after being on loan to a friend in need for the past 10 years.
Westernfield 550 (Mossy 500) with “riot” barrel and completely pointless Mossberg metal heat shield.
It’s ugly, but I kinda like it. I will probably try to trade it for an 870 though as I am just too used to them.

Edit: tried to take a better pic.

Love an old, salty 870. Where did you find this deal ?

Love an old, salty 870. Where did you find this deal ?

Believe it or not, this salty beast was found & won on Gunbroker for $235 (plus tax, shipping, ffl). Seller was Summit Gunbroker who regularly has surplus 870s on there. He also has them on his website for $350 but if you win one for less than $275 id estimate you’ll come out ahead. Great service, shipped fast, & no issues.

If you want to remove the sidesaddle, I have extra receiver pins somewhere.

I appreciate it but I already ordered some of evilbay. Are yours by chance ones long enough to accommodate the sidesaddle? The ones that came with it don’t screw in to a stop they just keep spinning even with a washer installed.

The factory pins are not threaded, and definitely not long enough for the sidesaddle. You can email Tacstar to get replacement screws but if they are just spinning, the threads in the aluminum plate are probably stripped. It’s easy to do….

I appreciate it. I’m probably just going to put traditional pins in it and maybe have a velcro shot card at the ready.

Only one I have at the moment.

870 Express. Currently wearing an 18" barrel, 2 shot extension, Streamlight HX,

I also have a 20" rifled barrel and a 28" VR for itKIMG2254.JPG

For not being much of a 'shotgun guy', they do accumulate over time.

I'll post a few of the less popular, I guess.

I've come to love this Remington 31, born in June 1942/Aug. '43 repair. It's before the 870 series and it's what the Mossberg 500 series is based off of. Smoooooth.

Not so rare, but a pair of Benelli M1 Super 90s. One of them has a straight stock these days.

Even cooler is the M1 S90's daddy, the Benelli M121.

Mossberg M9200A1 "Jungle Gun". It's rumored that a certain 3-letter fed agency requested/spec'd this from Mossberg for use in Central America. The barrel is more of a plumbing pipe than sgn barrel (thick!).

S&W 3000's (only made from '79 to '86)

Military shotgun collecting is something I stay away from, as there is lots to know, and so many fakes. But certain ones are easy; this "S" series Ithaca 37 is a US military Vietnam contract. I believe there's a pic of this shotgun in Canfield's Complete Guide to US Military Shotguns reference book. I bought this shotgun from a person mentioned in his 'Acknowledgements' and told me it was in there. If anyone has this book, please PM me.

The rarest of my '97's (c. 1916), but really not that rare.
