And now I'm finally back at the RV, after a long walk, about 4 boat rides and two bus rides...all to avoid a couple metal detectors.I've been waiting in lines...just for the privilege of waiting in another line, for which the reward is more waiting.
Married my daughter off, in the mountains of Amhurst VA.

No cost there as it was a friends mountain cabin
I was hanging out at the the Celtic Festival in Bethabara Park, Winston Salem. Watched most of the heavy athletics, enjoyed the bagpiping, had a ball. One of the guys in the caber toss had to be nearing 50 and he flipped it rather handily. And yeah, my heritage is heavily Scottish with associations in 2 of the Highland Clans.
Had a great day. For the first time in, well, ever that I can remember I went with both of my brothers and my dad to a shooting range.
Little back story. I am the "white sheep" of the family. Conservative, Christian, have kids, all that jive. My brothers are the artistic, musician, liberal leaning, non-firearm types. Generally speaking. A few months ago my oldest brother asked me to take him shooting and he loved it. Has asked me to go back a few times. So this weekend when they all wanted to go it was awesome. Finally getting them to hurl some lead is a great feeling as I think it's now something we can bond over. Oh, and even though I'm the "baby" I'm the best shot and most experienced.
The pistol is a Redhawk .44 magnum. My oldest brother both wants to get to be a better more accurate shot...but he loves recoil and extremely loud noises. (His rock concert was so loud once they made a girl puke.).
The AR is a franken AR I built from PSA, Anderson, and a Primary Arms micro dot.
The brother shooting it, after the first 5 rounds stood up (Wesmar, 5 rounds only per mag) and grinned and said "I want one..."
Never thought I'd see the day.
