Texas church shooting

I seriously wonder what the actual percentage of shrink drugs are are involved.
I am starting to think it has less to do with mental illness and more to do with the drugs they prescribe for it.

Truth is maybe a mix of both or the lack of taking said medication. See the biggest problem with folks on medication is them not taking said medication as prescribed. IVC’s are if people are dangerous to themselves or others and one of the quickest ways to get to that standard is the person has stopped taking medication recently. With the bad ones I have seen DSS actually have to go to the persons house to give shots weekly.

I can't reach one of my rifles without tripping over half a dozen loaded up mags...
My wife wonders why I have spare mags (1 of each AR, G17 and 1911 at least)on top of the fridge, on the shelf next to the front door, beside the bed, along with a few other places ... never know when you will need an extra.

I read today that this guy was bringing guns on the AFB base, the psychiatric facility, then threatening his commander. Can't comprehend how he did not get a dishonorable, but evidently his off the charts behavior happened after his trial. I served in the AF, and I can't recall standards being that lax.

"Kelley was picked up after the Santa Teresa, New Mexico, facility listed him as missing. The documents said officers had been warned that Kelley was a danger to himself and others and that he had sneaked firearms onto Holloman Air Force Base, where he had reportedly threatened his commanders." /CNN

Yep it's kind of fun finding mags you forgot you had laying here there and about some you forgot about.

Love the way he said let's go. Gives me cold chills thinking we still have guys like this.

Not sure if this has been covered yet, but just saw a news flash that perp escaped from a psychiatric hospital in 2012, apparently while he was still with the Air Force.

Correct. Here is a story with more details on that incident:

http://www.breitbart.com/texas/2017...ler-escaped-mental-hospital-2012-says-report/

and an additional article about the same event, indicating that the FBI was notified about the 2012 incident

Dollar to a donut this fat fart is probably in better shape than me. I can get winded having spirited conversation.

I'm ashamed.

I got puppy about 4 months ago and walk it 2-3 miles a day. Certainly helped me. Try it!

I wouldn't be so fast to call those guys Hero's. I honestly believe they are just ordinary law abiding, God fearing men of a small community that still believe in the basics of free living that saw a wrong and took action to right that wrong. Without hesitation they interjected themselves into a very dangerous situation and prevailed. That's what men like them do, they don't talk about it, they take action and do it. Small town America....
Imagine if the same circumstances were to happen in New York City, wonder what the reaction would be???

Yes, and it certainly looks as though these two are avoiding the attention more than seeking it.

That's the way it used to, and should be. These days the only officially acceptable answer is to do nothing and call dial a prayer. Even this group has its contingent of "stay out of it and let the professionals do their job".

People would have their phones out capturing the video so that they could have their 15 minutes of fame to tell the carnage; instead of stepping in and helping subdue evil.

Wow. Oh really? Give me a break, dude. These guys are top notch. I was attacked in Boston one Saturday night and guess how many people stopped...had any one person stopped to help, I would have considered them a hero on some level. You sound so elitist and snooty saying “ I wouldn’t call them heroes”. You’re right that they’re regular guys, but one action or reaction can make a regular guy or girl a hero to someone.

Considering it’s nearly impossible to legally own a gun in NYC, no I would not run into a gunfight unarmed.

What is this strange thing you speak of? Spare magazine. What is that?

To me, the word hero sure has been watered down a lot over the last 15-20 years.

Agree 100%. The title has been 'cheapened', because it gets slung around so much and many times, it is assigned to folks for the most minute, insignificant acts / choices they make. For example...a male celebrity can come out and announce they now identify as a woman. He goes through the surgery to change his 'parts' and the media oohs and ahhs, tripping over themselves to report how courageous 'she' is and even going so far as opining, "She's a real hero for doing this." No, he ain't.

Now, this may rub folks in my circle the wrong way....you pull up in a red truck with flashing lights to a house that's burning. Everybody on scene gives 100%; absolutely everything they've got. They go inside with a hoseline, knock the fire out and pull trapped victims from the structure. That's awesome, but that does not make anyone a hero; it makes them a good employee and servant of the citizens, because they did their job.

On the other hand, let's say a fellow is out for a jog in his neighborhood. The most exposure he's had to firefighting is dousing a pile of burning yard waste in his backyard with a garden hose. He sees a house on fire and hears a voice inside, screaming for help. Without hesitation, he runs inside, grabs the victim and drags them out of the house. Yeah; in my eyes, that man's a hero.

I believe the same is true for these two folks in Texas. Neither one of them had to do what they did; at great risk to themselves, they confronted an armed murderer, got into a gunfight and chased the killer for 10+ miles at almost triple-digit speeds. They felt a sense of duty to their fellow citizens and although not obligated to do so, they chose to make it their job to end Kelley's spree.

IMO, if there ever were any heroes, these dudes are.

I don't think I've ever read a post on a forum or social media that I agreed with anymore than this! Spot on, my friend!

So brave...

The irony in that, is that these are the same professionals that they consider to be incompetent, biased and trigger happy.

Just waiting on them to say that they don't need weapons as well. Take all defenses down. "If you lay your weapons down then the bad guy will too."

And when they do, ask them to explain what defenses the kindergarten kids in CT had.

That tracks kinda with public school’s suspending the victim in a fight if they fight back under the zero tolerance policy thing. My son, a sophomore in high school, has always been told if anyone starts something I’ll back him up. Only once have I had to go to the school and basically told the assistant principal my son was not going to lay down and take it so the 3 days for protecting himself will be a vacation not a punishment thank you hav a nice day.

I am not one to take to violence first but I am not going to just stand there and think it will just go away ...

It is all part of the pacification of the general public. Stay down and do not stand up when "I" tell you to do something.

I got to thinking about these guys' actions yesterday and what it would mean if they did it in a state like NY. I bet they would be in jail awaiting charges. They chased a fleeing suspect and shot at him with guns. We always hear how you can't do that legally even in NC.

I think they absolutely did the right thing. I just think it is funny how if they did the same actions after say the bad guy shot only 1 person, maybe in a home, and then fled and it was in a gun control state, they may be in jail right now.

Isn't that pretty close to the best and purest definition of what a hero is?

I also feel that the word "Hero" is thrown around too often and not under the correct circumstances.

But according to Webster (part "D") I think it fits in this instance.

Actually pacification is a nice way of putting it ... my real word does begin with “p” and would get me in trouble unless in Chad’s Basement or Tortuga. I could also go with the Star Trek Borg “assimilation” reference. What ever word we choose I myself will not accept it and am doing my best to keep my son a free and independent thinker ... high school should be easy but college is where it really starts between professors and student societies and activists. I hope someone calls my kid “uncivilized” or other term because he does not take crap or follow PC BS ... they already say it about me and he knows I take it as a label of honor.

Texas church shooting not the first time a good guy with gun takes down mass shooter

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/11/0...ood-guy-with-gun-takes-down-mass-shooter.html

“I thank my God, my Lord, protected me and gave me the skills to do what needed to be done,” Willeford told local media on Monday. “I just wish I could have gotten there faster.”

That's awesome but I bet somewhere there is a news agency ready to write an article about how this guy is a backslider for not actually being in church that day.

Not his church, although he apparently rode with them .

Watched the Louder with Crowder interview of Willeford. Main take away was keep mags loaded.
Hope the vultures leave him alone.
