What I’m doing tonight. Drinking a beer tying flies with a helper/road block.

My wife snapped this picture, he's running the splitter and I'm putting the logs into place.

Any of the porches at The Battery Oaks.
A perfectly cast fly on a stream not found in any local guide books...
I know it might sound kinda like suckin up kinda whipped as some guys would say, but my peace as you call it is my wife. She is my everything like I said before not whipped or anything else it is just she is everything I've always looked for in a woman to be mine. I mean you can ask anyone who knows us she is the love of my life and the very life of my love she is my everything. Like you said she is when I'm with her the one thing that makes everything go away, long as I'm with her I couldn't care what else happens around me. Ok enough sappy stuff on to being my normal pita. Oh almost forgot my dog Emma she knows when my temper goes nuts or I'm upset and she will come up and make me forget all about whatever has got me off balance so to speak. Yes I have lets say moments where I kinda lose lets call it my patience.Do you have an activity (other than sex or sex-related activities) that brings you what I describe as a heavenly peace? In other words, the world around you could be total chaos, burning down in a blaze of fire but if you were doing this activity you either wouldn’t notice it or wouldn’t care. I am fortunate to have two;
The first one is dancing. I know this is a very female answer but when I dance the rest of the world stands still. Nothing matters but me and the beat of the song I am dancing to. Every beat allows me to feel something, whether it be joy or what I can only describe as grit. If the right song comes on (and it only happens with certain songs) I can’t keep my body from moving, even if I wanted to. Those are the best songs. This is why sometimes I will dance on an empty dance floor...it’s because I have to and I really don’t care what anyone else thinks about it because my feet are gonna start moving regardless. It is rare for me not to smile while dancing because of the joy it brings me.
My second one is being with my family. I really don’t care what we are doing: eating lunch, playing a game, or watching television I enjoy the laughs we share. And of course, I enjoy my time with my hubby after my son goes to bed. This time to connect with my spouse is so important. It’s what keeps the flame alive. It’s what reconnects us each night after a busy day. It is what reminds me that all the other stressors in life are insignificant. As @Chdamn always says “Don’t sweat the small stuff...and it’s all small stuff.” This becomes clear when I am with my family.

I have a few things that bring me peace, usually in different seasons. In the fall and winter, it's definitely watching the sun come up from a deer blind or stand. Nothing like feeling the thermal force of the rising sun forcing that last bit of the night's coldest air across your face and knowing it's doing the same thing to your prey, making them get up and moving even thought they have a fur coat on. Nothing makes me feel more part of the whole of creation than that moment.
Then later, when it gets into the 20s and below, feeling a crack of my splitting axe against a nice seasoned round of hickory or white oak, the sound of it hitting the wheelbarrow, and then stacking up a pile for that nights' fire. I even split wood at night with a headlamp on, listening for any coons or possums or whatever night creature wants to happen across my activities. Single action 22lr revolver is ready for em
In the late winter when we get a dose of spring weather, I like to go out to my friend's farm and set up steel plates at 100 and 150 and plink with my sons. They love shooting prone out of the back of my truck
Springtime is garden time, and I wish I could really do what I wanted as far as growing things goes........well beyond the scope of my garden plots. My next place will have a greenhouse.
Summer means fishing, shooting, going out with friends and enjoying vacations.
All those things bring me peace and happiness when I share it with my family and close friends.
I'm following this thread very closely and will now make a prediction:
The thread is only 4 days old at 8:10 pm tonight and already has 110 posts from CFF members who have honestly shared their heartfelt sentiments about peace in life with the forum family here. I have sincerely enjoyed reading every single one of these posts as it helps me to better understand what really brings peace, tranquility, and a better quality in life to those of you that have contributed to the thread. For that I'm grateful and humbled at the same time. I'm guessing as you read this it become obvious what brings peace to me...……...it's seeing others happy, enjoying freedom, loyalty, caring for those around them......and yes; spending time on the very best internet hangout I've ever known about. All of you are the best and I appreciate what you bring to the Carolina Firearms Forum family here.
I predict this thread will continue to go for many more pages if we all pledge to tag it, post honest thoughts in it, and share it with others on the forum. We really have more in common than we know once honest feelings are shared. That is worth something to me in life.
Thank you @Chdamn's Wife for starting this inspiring thread and keeping it moving. And thank all of you who have posted in it.

It's here. Anytime ya'll need a break from life, it's here. Fire pit, ponds, trails to roam, rockers ready for service on big shaded porches. All from CFF are welcome anytime. This is truly a shooters paradise.I think we need about 100 acres with a huge firepit and some gazebos in the middle for CFF gatherings.
