Smith & Wesson is a religion of peace.
No proper rifling? Its going to shoot like hot garbage. I'll pass.
Actually, he couldn't have been more correct. Even used the same baseball analogy as the Franklin guy did.Straight rifling is still rifling... Guy's a dumbass...
Agreed. I can do that with my G35.I have zero interest in a "firearm" that can't even shoot accurately at 50yds.
That was painful to listen to. Seriously that FA rep didn’t know ANYTHING
Agreed. It was painful to watch. He was terrible, I can’t believe they let him be the one to demo that.
ATF guy was probably laughing his ass off when they brought this to him.

...and it sounds like it will only be available in 300BLK to start with.
My guess would be "very bad things"...I wonder what would happen if you put a suppressor that had "rifled" baffles on the end of it.
You just made an SBR, and would be liable under the NFA.Not that I would ever spend the money to get one.
But what happens if you change out the barrel after you did buy one?
What "law" have you broken?
I have been pondering this. That said for the life of me I can't see any clear advatage over a 11.5 pistol especially considering all the new brace options. Not that I would ever spend the money to get one.

I imagine it would strip the bullet vs engaging the rifling that late in the process. Or remove the device from the end of the firearm...

I really don’t even see how it’s giving the ATF the middle finger, unless there’s something I missed. They created something that is practically useless. So how long till 11.5" straight lands and groove barrels start popping up?
Its just for the cost of this thing, I could build a 11.5" pistol + $200 stamp and be under $1000 easily. In fact I bet its possible to build a 11.5" pistol with a echo trigger and stamp it all for about $1000. This thing just seems like a really expensive way to give the middle finger to the ATF.
Straight lands and grooves.
Franklin Armory just pulled a publicity stunt in my eyes that any serious gun owner will see as almost useless.
You would have manufactured/redesigned it into an SBR. So both mechanically and legally bad things would happen.I wonder what would happen if you put a suppressor that had "rifled" baffles on the end of it.
