Snowmageddon December 8th, 9th, 10th 2018

About 4-6 inches here between Pittsboro and Apex. Power went off sometime around 7am? I had fallen back asleep and the kids woke me up. Got the generator running. I got home after dark yesterday and didn’t do anything to get it ready, so I’m glad it is all working and hooked up now To run the well pump for a while.
I have two portable propane heaters I got from @thrillhill last winter, so going to get those out so we don’t have to run the generator constantly. We’ll have to see how long the power is going to be out

Solid 6 here and still coming heavy here...sounds like a porno.
I might take pics in a bit to post.

Looks like I'm right at about 12" on worlds edge. But the power is still on...for now. It continues to snow. I'm guessing it'll end up 15-18" there-abouts.
I-26 is closed in both directions between Hendersonville and Asheville. The semi's are all jacked-knifed and have got the freeway completely shut down.

But the country spirit will not be squelched anyway. Last night at about 10;30 pm the boys from down the road had their atv's out playing. Brap Brap. Donuts in the road and general night-time hooliganism. I about joined them. Lemonade from lemons.

We have six inches here in Lenoir and the snow is still coming down hard. power flickered about 8 but stayed on. Generator is ready if we lose power.
Stay safe out there people

Lots of snow. No power. Generator and gas logs humming right along. Cooked bacon and eggs on the front porch.

Still snowing like crazy. Huge flakes and they are coming down fast still. 6" plus on the ground already.

8" and counting in Lexington

Three inches or so here so far, and snowing it's butt off right now. Think I'll give the old 4 wheeler a spin for a few minutes.

About an inch of ice pellets where I shoveled the deck a couple hours ago.

Got a solid 9” here in midway. Took me about 50 minutes to get home this morning from work. Maybe Mrs Bizzle will get a few inches here after while if baby Bizzle will take a nap!

Im assuming no one else is out, right?
As bad as it is, I dont see any traffic in my neighborhood, so I assume that its a ghost town all over the area and ws etc

Still coming down here, but power just came back on!

IMG_20181209_103807958.jpg Nothing but a nasty, slushy, useless mess here.

Maybe 2" of snow. But it's constantly switching between rain, sleet and snow. No fun here in the valley of the mountains...

Went out to take the gf to work. Realized she would just be stuck there so made an executive decision and turned around. It's just a mess. But I'm proud of my little 2wd ranger. She clawed, scrabbled and scrapped and dug in to get us back into the driveway:cool:IMG_20181209_103731669.jpg

I just shoveled moms porches and steps. The snow in the yard is as tall as my muck boots. We got at least 12” so far.

Of snow, 12” of snow before you goobers run with that

I ain’t going out far to measure but it’s 10”+ here from the tarp on the side steps but it was a little drift accumulation there so maybe 8” or so. We started with nice fluffy stuff I’m starting to hear sleet hit the shed’s roof so the mix is starting. The hardwoods are just flocked pretty like but the pines and such are sagging like a hood rats pants ... looks that’s my power threat.

@HMP we got 13” on this side of new 52 right now. Still coming down. Has moments of sleet mixed with it too.

Still gloomy and rainy.....I'm thinking ice later, which means power out. Not a happy thought, but I have 2 propane heaters ready to go.
Everybody stay safe if you have to go out and about!

11 inches here and still snowing hard

Nothing but rain down here, I'm 45 minutes south of Charlotte.

It looks like 6" here in LA, but Weather Underground says we have 8.3 inches. There is a WU weather station about a mile away.

We probably have 8-9" cleared the downhill corner of the drive. Power flickered so dug the Gen out for the wife. Gladly haven't seen much traffic on 52, gotta go to work in a bit. The speedlimit may not be an option but these are not sub 20mph conditions but I suspect that is the prevailing speed.

We seem to have topped out just shy of 10" here in west Durham... getting mostly sleet now. Hopefully when it switches to rain it'll be warm enough to keep it from freezing!

Safe travels if you have to be out on the roads.

Here in Glen Raven we have 11” of snow with layers of sleet mixed in. Still deleting and snowing as well.

11” of snow and still coming down occasionally. Work canceled for the 3rd time in 10 years. But I’ll probably work my regular day off. House across the road has a 3’ snow drift in front of the porch.
