Update: keeping her! Free Kitten!! It was running across Main Street and I had to tear my car apart. Pics & story

Shocked the miniature dachshund took to the cat. Mine didn’t like any other animals. Killed amy bird or critter that didn’t get thru the fence.
She was very good to the other dog too. Zelda was brought in as a puppy and Isabelle at 3 at the time kinda showed motherly instincts even though she never had puppies. Same with Lucky, the 6 year old orange Alfred has been like a father to her. It’s quite amazing watching these animals every day.

Our youngest kills everything he can catch & is the cat’s best buddy. The older two grew up with a cat & while Twinks is a bit over the top for their taste, they don’t mind him too much.

Thanks. He's settling in good. Uses litterbox. Plays all the time. Other two cats are having fun with him.
The instincts. Lucky used the box the night I pulled her out of my dash. Animals are great.

Our goofball wore hisself out today, chasing acorns across the ice on the pond (WTH?), wrassling with dog & racing him to catch the laser pointer dot 🤣 He's been passed out since about halfway through Yellowstone & is currently passed out on the couch beside me. Turning into a big lover boy & has taken to following me around the property & hangin' out while I perform whatever chore I'm working on. The pond ice tomfoolery occurred while he was watching us trench & install the pond's drainage pipe with a mini excavator & skid steer. He wouldn't get too close, but he didn't get too far away, either.

Still growing & still ain't growed into them feet, 'neither & is turning into a hoss of a cat. Think he's gonna be one of those "OMG, what are y'all feeding that beast?" cats.

Fool got wet this morning. It warmed up overnight, so there was only a light skim of ice in one corner & he just had to try it. I heard it creaking & one hind leg went through & when he tried to jump, he went in up to his butt before he could get out. Jackass took off like his butt was on fire, leapt into a pile of leaves in the front yard & proceeded to clean hisself 🤣

When we got our female cat spayed, about three years ago, it was around $200.
I instantly googled spay clinics. The sites I looked at were much less. Of course I want the best for her but the prices they charge make it seem they are very proud of what they do.
