Update: keeping her! Free Kitten!! It was running across Main Street and I had to tear my car apart. Pics & story

Freja went to the groomer today. Had knots in her hair down her spine we couldn't get rid of. Odd since she gets brushed about every day. Looks a little funny, but she actually acts like she feels better. I imagine it was pulling and hurt and she'd get annoyed anytime you'd pet her back. You can see where they went extra deep with the clippers on her spine.

You’re not wrong. Even touching bad mats can make an animal wanna kill you. Did they say how they developed?
No they didn’t. The ones she had earlier I could usually get to stand up and then in a calm moment snip them off with scissors. These were embedded down the spine. We figure she may have trouble cleaning herself there, even though you can see without all the fur she’s not fat, just a big kitty (typical for females in the breed to be upwards of 16 lbs and she’s ~13lbs). I do brush her regularly but not always with a rake that removes the undercoat, which is another feature of the breed.

She’s a year old now. She doesn’t sit still very long. It’s not great, but I got a pic of her finally getting up onto the whatever type of wall it’s called; it was solid and dumb until I put a hole in it. She’s wild.

My new job that I took 6 months ago has an orange and white cat I found out a bit ago. Had seen him in passing but he had never had anything to do with anyone. I was locking up one day last week and he came out and spoke. I petted him for a minute. He was very skinny.
Now there’s this. Take 2-3 days for it get empty, but something is eating it. He doesn’t come out much when the place is open, it’s loud and dusty. Hopefully I’ll see him again soon and can get some pics.

I'll take it

If I can catch it, it would sure have a better life with you than running around a compost facility plagued with coyotes
I'm not that special but thanks. It sounds like a regular, coyote-less compost facility would be an upgrade too.

We were watching our outdoor orange cat eat the food we put out, then watched as a possum came and chased him/her off . Now we put the food out at dusk , when the possum is less likely to be out and about.

Side note: She plays fetch too.
That's special. Our first, Tasha did too. Spent hours throwing her fishy down the stairs while she'd retrieve it and drop it at your feet and look at you to throw it again. Somehow, it disappeared, but to get dying day you could say, "where's your fishy?" And she'd look for it excitedly.

Same here. She brings it back and rubs all up on my legs meowing to me to toss it 🤣

A friend had a black cat named Frank. He was really friendly. Reminded me of Tasha. Where the god goes to daycare, there is one named Lady Midnight. One time, I was petting her and stopped, only to find her going tap tap tap, reaching out and tapping my hand to please continue. I have a soft spot for black cats.

He was hanging out at the bowl one morning last week. Got a few pets when I got there and then scrammed. He has a collar on but he’s too skinny to belong to someone
